First Floor
First Floor
On the first floor there are 7 single occupancy rooms. 4 of which have recently been refurbished and have small en-suite facilities comprising of sink and toilet. The rooms have been refurbished tastefully in neutral colours.
Personalisation of rooms is welcomed with service users encouraged to make their room their own. Picture, ornaments and small items of furniture can all be brought. We find this helps with settling in and a feeling of belonging. Our care staff take great care and pride in looking after personal belongings. Personal items are also great ice-breakers as care staff take an interest and will ask about photographs and ornaments listening with interest to stories about their origin.
All rooms are equipped with nurse calls allowing the occupant to call staff when they need support.
Bathroom- equipped with a bath hoist and supportive equipment.
Shower room- a second bathroom has a walk in shower equipped with a shower chair and non slip flooring.
A recent refurbishment has seen the corridors redecorated in plain neutral colours with new flooring. LED lighting has also been installed, this type of lighting has been proven in reducing falls as it created more natural lighting with no shadows. Shadows and changes in floor coverings are known to create visual disturbances to those living with dementia and can appear as holes or steps and the risk of falling is increased.
